Mis-Direction: Learning from Mistakes

08.01.2018 | by Dave Johnson, Senior Pastor

Hey River of Lifers!

We’re super excited about our next sermon series: Mis-Direction: Learning from Mistakes.

“‘The godly may trip seven times, but they will get up again.
But one disaster is enough to overthrow the wicked,’ (NIV Proverbs 24:16).”

For the next four weeks we will be digging into God’s Word regarding:

  1. What we can learn about what it means to be a good leader.
  2. How we learn from our own mistakes and the mistakes of others.
  3. Using others’ faults to fuel our journey to become effective guides in our homes, jobs, communities, and churches.

During this four-week series we will be examining four biblical leaders, analyzing their mistakes and detailing how each leader experienced acute failure at specific points in their lives.

Each weeks’ message contrasts that specific leader’s shortcomings with Jesus’ redemptive role as the perfect leader. Touching on the topics of responsibility, endurance, discipline, and fear, ‘Mis-Direction’ explores both what godly leadership is, and what it isn’t.
