I don’t know about you, but one of the things I love most about Christmas is getting Christmas letters in the mail. I love hearing all about the trips and vacations; how the kids have grown and what families have been busy with throughout the year, so I thought I’d write a Christmas letter to all of you from ROL:

Dear family and friends,

Merry Christmas! Wow! What a year it’s been! It’s hard to know where to start – so much has happened this past year. We have been blessed to have a house full every Sunday.

2018 in a Nutshell

We love being able to open our doors to the community and help those who join us learn more about finding and following Jesus. In fact, we love it so much, we open our doors to preschool, elementary, middle and high school kids on Wednesday nights too! The place is packed. There’s so much going; student-led worship, story time for the younger kids, small groups for the teens, games, snacks and a whole lot of Jesus.

If you haven’t joined us yet, we want to invite you to bring the whole family on January 9 for Family Meal Night.

We “Lived Fully Alive”

In July, we all went to camp – Community Bible Camp at Lions Park in Elk River. Nearly 300 kids and volunteers joined us as well as five area churches. It was a five-day adventure of singing songs, playing games and learning how God wants us to be overloaded with confidence because everything he says is true! As Michaela likes to say, “it was SUPER AWESOME!”

We Launched a Satellite Campus

Hopefully by now you’ve heard that we have two homes – one in Elk River and one in Otsego. This is a part of God’s vision for River of Life – AKA Summit 2030. We didn’t think it was going to happen this soon, but the doors were opened for us to launch a new location at Prairie View Elementary and Middle School in Otsego. Our first service was on Sunday, September 30 and we’re excited to see how God is going to use this site to reach more people for Christ. We hope you’ll come for a visit and invite your friends!

We SERVED! The Community

Oh! Then in October, we set aside our routines and spent a week serving the community. As a family, we completed projects for single mom’s and widows, for Abba Crisis Pregnancy Center, CAER, Timber Bay, the city of Elk River and many residents in our communities. We also made new friends at Vision Bus Company when we thanked them for all they do; and at various Guardian Angels locations where we sang songs, played games and visited with the residents. We called SERVE! Week and it was awesome – we can’t wait to do it again next year! We’re also planning a Feed My Starving Children MobilePack in April. We’ll be sharing those details soon.

These are just a few of the highlights! Thanks for being a part of so many of them. We couldn’t have done them without your volunteer help and financial support. Your tithes and offerings make it possible for us to help those in our community find and follow Jesus.

Thank You for Giving to River Of Life

Currently our expenses are below our budget, but our expenses are approximately $100,000 over giving. We hope that you’ll consider making a year-end gift to help us close that gap and continue to do the great work God has called us to.

Ways to Give:

      1. You can give online at www.rolmn.org/give
      2. Text GIVE to 763-251-7700
      3. Drop off a gift on Sunday morning

Gifts received on or before December 31 are tax deductible in 2018.

From all of us at River of Life, we wish you a very Merry Christmas and invite you to join us in celebrating the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus, on December 23 at 9 or 10:45 a.m. or on December 24 at 3 or 4:30 p.m.

Joy to the World!
