New Sermon Series: Homies

12.28.2018 | by Dave Johnson, Senior Pastor

Are you sick of living a mediocre, average life? Or a life always on the run, filled with stress and the feeling that you’re doing a lot but not getting anywhere? This New Year let’s return to God, afresh, in a way that makes a difference! Let’s make knowing God our New Year’s Revelation! Let’s invite God into our lives, our families and our relationships.

New Sermon Series: ‘Homies!’

Coincidentally, our next sermon series is focuses on all of the above! In January and February we will be diving into a new series called Homies! I know, the title is different, but I hope it makes you laugh! Homies are the people you roll with. It’s your crew. AKA your family. We all have them. We can’t avoid them. So we might as well figure out how to live with them.

We all want great families and great relationships. I know it’s easier said than done; and everyone has an opinion. Culture, media, and even other people’s ‘homies’ try to tell us who we should be and how we should do it. With so many voices attempting to shape our values, it can be difficult to stay on course and raise families and friendships that reflect what’s most important to us.

We’ll be cracking open God’s Word and discovering ways to bring life into our families and friends. To name a few, we’ll be learning about and applying the power of selflessness, the power of words and the power of mercy. We will be learning that good intentions are not good enough and we must act in ways that bring life and meaning to relationships.

Whether you’re a mom or a dad, a son, daughter, aunt, uncle, grandma or grandpa… this series will help us all ensure that the people in our lives, the people we call ‘homies’ are well-loved and well-led.
