What a day! We hit our stride today and things flowed so smoothly, praise God!
We started the day with a hearty breakfast made by the one and only Steve Cram (who’s nickname is now tèt kale – ask him about it). Then we had a Creole lesson, a prayer walk, and a tour of the local HHM Clinic. Afterwards, we went back to the house for a quick change of clothes, lunch, and supply packing before heading back to Jean Jean for our second round of health checks. The afternoon went amazingly and we saw God show up in the big and the small.
Seeing God work in big ways
The medical team in the clinic today saw God work in the series of events that led to being able to treat a patient they weren’t originally going to see. A kid, who’s not part of the GlobalFingerprints program, came in and Trisha and Lonie agreed to see him anyways. He ended up needing an antibiotic, but in a lower dosage than what we had in our pharmacy. God orchestrated it, however, that Lonie had the antibiotic with her in the correct dosage. They were able to both see this kid and get him the medicine that he needs to help him recover!
James and Kristina saw God work today by allowing them to build relationships with the kids before and after their check ups at the clinic. We brought coloring supplies and a soccer ball today and things took off! James started up a soccer game that continued with various kids throughout the afternoon. Kristina was able to color and play games with the kids and one of the interpreters for a long time before getting roped into playing soccer at the end of the day.
Our interpreters are a huge blessing. We’ve been able to build relationships with them on the car rides and as we work together throughout the day. Praise God for them!
Pray with us for the country of Haiti, the local communities and those serving in them, the HHM Clinic, the kids, our interpreters, and the remainder of our trip. Each of these has been a huge blessing to us and we pray that God would use us to bless them in return and, above all, bring glory to Him.
“Devote yourselves to prayer, keeping alert in it with an attitude of thanksgiving; praying at the same time for us as well, that God will open up to us a door for the word, so that we may speak forth the mystery of Christ,… that I may make it clear in the way I ought to speak.” – Colossians 4:2-4
