Missions
Reaching the World, Starting at Home.
At River of Life, we believe the mission begins at home and extends across the world. From serving our local community to partnering with global ministries, we’re committed to sharing the love of Jesus in both word and action. Our focus in missions is built on three pillars: Support, Serve, and Send—supporting ongoing ministries, serving hands-on where needs exist, and sending people wherever God calls. Whether it’s a service project down the street or a trip across the ocean, we follow His leading to bring hope, help, and the message of Christ to a world in need.
Support
Our mission begins right here in Minnesota—especially in our own city of Elk River. Through partnerships with local ministries and year-round outreach opportunities, we seek to serve and care for our community. Below are the missionaries, ministries, and organizations we proudly support.
Serve
We strive to provide opportunities for the River of Life community to serve locally throughout our city. Check here for upcoming Love This City events and local serve opportunities!
Spring Yard Cleanup
Have you been looking for an opportunity to be the hands and feet of Jesus in your local community? Join us for our upcoming Love This City event on Sunday, April 26 from 12:00-3:00pm! River of Life will be partnering with Great River Faith in Action to provide a Spring Yard Cleanup for an elderly member of the community. We will gather for a light lunch after our 10:45am service, and will head out to complete the service project at about 1:00pm. Sign up by April 19!
Send
Each year we provide mission trip opportunities both across the U.S. and around the world. Check here for updates on upcoming missions trips! We recently had a team return from Nicoya, Costa Rica—see below for a recap of the trip!
Costa Rica Missions Trip Recap
The first couple days of the trip, the team put on a VBS at three different churches. They had over 90 kids come out, and despite the language barrier, God really showed up—connections were made, and they had meaningful moments praying over families. Alongside VBS, the team completed several projects at the camp including, painting the bunkhouse, installing bathroom stall doors, and cutting trees. The second half of the week, the team began to see Heaven touch earth in ways that left them speechless! Healing broke out, powerful baptisms took place, and numbers of Costa Ricans were led to salvation during park evangelism. Two different women regained their sight during prayer, and a man suffering from a severe mouth infection and fever who couldn't eat, was completely healed and restored after being prayed over! The joy was contagious and God didn't just move in the lives of the people the team met, but each member of our own team encountered Jesus in radical, life-changing ways.
